Update: milk stand has arrived.

My Delaval milk stand also has arrived for my spring milking, sans instruction manual-which is making things very difficult!

I'll post some pics of the ewes and the milk stand later :-)

The sheep all arrived safe and sound, 9 ewes and 2 rams in total, the 2 rams have been put in with some ewes.

Getting sheep tomorrow!

So we're off to get our sheep tomorrow, it's a long drive, about 2 days in total, we also have to hire a trailer so we can fit all the sheep. It will be exciting to finally see the sheep.

New ewe's and 2 new rams

Hi,

I've just found out that I'm getting (finally!) 6-8 purebred east friesian ewe's and 2 purebred rams (which will take ram numbers up to 4), one of the rams is white with blue eyes the other is black and white.

I live in Australia on a mixed farming property, I've always enjoyed sheep and about 3 years ago I discovered sheep dairying and it seemed a perfect fit! So this will be a blog about the dairy's progress, including construction and sheep breeding, and my cheese making adventures also :-)
